Football

Czech Football

The Czech top tier currently stands around 10th in UEFA standings and the success in recent years includes Champions and Europa League appearances for Slavia, Sparta, and Viktoria Plzen, who this year remain in the Europa League and Conference League competitions. The Czech league feeds bigger competitions across Europe as well as the MLS and is heavily scouted by German clubs. The Czech league is an ideal place for young players to seek First-League opportunities while adapting to the intensity of European football.

Former foreign players such as Edin Dzeko (Teplice - Wolfsburg, Manchester City, AS Roma, Inter Milan), Bony Wilfried (Sparta Prague - Vitesse, Swansea City, Manchester City) and Abdallah Sima (Taborsko - Slavia Prague - Brighton & Hove Albion, Glasgow Rangers) have come through the Czech League. Young Czech players abroad include Adam Hložek (Sparta Prague - Bayer Leverkusen) and David Jurásek (Brno - Mlada Boleslav - Slavia Prague - Benfica Lisbon - Hoffenheim) while established players such as Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal play for West Ham United.
